Music & Bands

You would not think that your own personal love of ‘Chocolate’ could also seamlessly lead you into the love of a band . . .
Snow Patrol bring to bear something so rare in music: in the same song they can take you from the depths of despair to the upper limits of euphoria with little more than a change in the lilt of Gary Lightbody’s voice and a variation in the chords of a guitar. They can relax both a restless heart and mind with a few simple twinkly notes or a sudden and abrupt change in tempo.
For those of you who are also fans of this band is there really any more beautifully simple song than ‘You Could Be Happy’?
The words to the song so touchingly describe a sense of lost love and yet also still the strange heartfelt desire to wish that person well in spite of what has now moved away from us and left us broken hearted.
And what about the song ‘Chocolate’ that arguably first brought them to the commercial public at larges attention?
This was the song that introduced me to Snow Patrol – although I have to admit that it was not solely the song that drew me to the band. The video was just fascinating with the clock counting down seeming to destruction and the band playing on whilst events around them unfurled. There was something so strangely poignant about the idea that the lyrics of the song could begin with the line “This could be the very minute I’m aware I’m alive all these places feel like home” as the world around them descends into a bizarre panic.
In effect I would argue it is the way in which Snow Patrol embraces the fundamentals of alternative rock that makes them such an amazing band for me.
I need a bit of advice before I log off, I have recently been looking into email marketing software for this website that I have, to help me mangage all of my clients. Does anyone know any useful programs that they have already tried out? It seems that there are a lot of different online services, but to be honest I don’t really know what I should be looking for. If anyone has done this with their websites, it would be great to hear what you have found out.
